THE TWO YEARS AT SCHOOL
STUDIES
:
*
Duration : 2 years after finishing high-school.
* System : day-school (details of rooms & flats to be rented are available at the secretary's office).
*Those following a regular cursus are registered as students which enables them :
- to benefit from University social programmes.
- to become affiliated to the student social security.
* Those following a sandwich course become salaried students.
* Available languages : english, german & spanish (italian &
russian are also available on request).
ACCEPTANCE CONDITIONS TO THE SCHOOL :
The Baccalaureat (equivalent of Bristish A-levels) is required except in most particular cases.

A close examination of your school file :
The applicant must provide all his/her high school results as well as an information file filled by the upper sixth teachers. This high school file must contain particularly good results in French, Mathematics and foreign languages.

Interview with the headmaster :
If your school file is satisfactory, you will be notified an appointment for an interview to assess both your motivation and abilities. Level tests might then be done particularly regarding skills in foreign languages.
REQUIRED SKILLS :

* To be a dynamic and success-minded person.
APPROVAL OF STUDIES :
* Acces to the final exam : B.T.S. in Tourism, Sales & Tourist productions (a state recognized diploma).
* Delivery of final certificate.

GENERAL EDUCATION :

* The aim of this course is to enable students to get an effective communication in everyday & vocational situations.
* The means are : oral presentations - text analysis & summary - texts comparisons - deductive reasoning of argumentation - written essays from texts & documents - letters & reports writing...
- Foreign Languages :
* Reinforcement of the standard level of language. Acquisitionof technical & vocational vocabulary. Command of tourist knowledge.

: geography, history & civilization, traditions & habits...

Applied tourist geography, Arts and civilization
:
* Study of historical & geographical factors which can influence travelling. Market & tourist floods analysis.
* International tourism - European tourism - Tourist floods.
* Knowledge of masterpieces in relation with historico-cultural environment.
* History of Art from prehistoric times to XXth Century.
* Tourist current trends.

PRACTICAL TRAINING :

* Tourist information system.

Training course in firms :
* 16 weeks in tourist trade firms.
* Students have to write a report to be orally presented for final examination.

* B.T.S. graduates in Tourism, Sales & Tourist production (B.T.S. VPT) are entitled to follow a degree in tourism (Paris, Lille or Angers).

* The B.T.S. in Tourism, Sales & Tourist production enables to get a recognized diploma to enter university studies in varied fields : Foreign languages, History of arts, Geography & national/regional development.
